A Little BBQ Joint

This is a fun place that has the best BBQ in town. The decor is terrific and the staff are excellent. Friendly place with carry out, dine in and a bar. In summer there is a large deck on the weekends live music. Enjoy!

We went middle of the afternoon. Not crowded. Good food and service. The owner is an artist in the things he makes and uses to decorate the place. Excellent experience.

All you get are pics of the outside. I took the first bite and never looked back. Next thing I know I was walking out the door. I ordered the burnt ends and they were excellent. I added 3 ribs and they where fall off the bone good. It took awhile to get seated but then again we had 10 people with us. It is not a large place. So we understood. We got seated at 7:50 but they closed at 8pm on Thursday. We never felt rushed. Everyone was nice and pleasant.

We enjoyed our lunch very much. Service was nice and quick. I always go for the ribs so that's what I had, they did not disappoint. My date had the brisket and he liked that as well. We ordered the BBQ wontons, that was a split decision, he liked them and I didn't. Too heavy for me.

The food is excellent, every time. The ambiance is great, and it has a back patio to sit and enjoy music with your food, and really terrific servers. Hint: for a great appetizer, try the bacon chips. They are to die for!

Excellent BBQ. The ribs were huge. Hot potato salad excellent, also fried green beans and cauliflower. Baked beans very good. The clientele looked very blue collar for lunch. Lots of baseball and tractor hats, no suits. Sauce was good, but don't expect much heat from their hot version. Very mild.

Loved this place. Was shocked when I walked in how cool it was. Awesome drinks. And the food was to die for!

Every one working there has a great personality. The food has never been anything but fantastic. I have told and taken many people about the place. I will miss it when I move out of the area. . I for sure will have a meal there when I am in the area .

I go with the family now and then, and today went for a work lunch with some folks from out of town who wanted to try some KC BBQ. They enjoyed it and loved the decor as well. Good spot.

I have only been here 2 or 3 times, and I love the food, ambiance and the crew that run it.We are always greeted as we enter, and the wait staff is always professional and eager to get you what ya want or need.I reccomend the Smoked Bacon chips, that are Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!!!The Chile Cheese Fries are great as well.My dad and friend had the burnt ends, so I cannot elaborate on them, but they looked and smelled amazing.I highly recommend this establishment to everyone wanting a good meal.Enjoy!!!

This place is great, they dont have a huge menu so it's easy to decide what you want. Really good food and staff as well.

Really enjoyed the food, though had some meat that was a bit dry. I would like to assume it was a one time deal but don't live close enough to come back soon. The bacon chips appetizer was AMAZING. Paid about $20-$25 a person. Very cool place.

Dig the atmosphere and the food is pretty good too. Very Independence vibes both in a trashy way and a classy way. If you ever eat here and from the area, you know what I'm talking about. On Fridays when the weather isn't cold, the have live bands play which is a cool little feature that I'm gonna go back and enjoy.

Awesome vibe in the his place but I found the brisket to be just so-so with zero smoke on it. Tasted like it was parboiled. Pulled pork was better. .. sides were meh. All vinegar based sauces ..There are way better places to get your BBQ than this

The food was ok, it might have tasted better if you could sit in the restaurant and eat it. The bacon chips were good, the ribs were yummy,and the spicy coleslaw was different, but good. I have had better bbq. Iwill go back and try it again when the restaurant opens to see if it's better.

Great ribs and chicken tonight! Tall Tales band was playing in the back eating deck while we enjoyed the food. Very eclectic and tastefully done old country type decoration. Worth a trip for sure one evening!

Visiting from San Antonio for Chiefs game. Great little spot for food. Not super huge but plenty of seating with a bar as well. Plenty to choose from in the menu and daily specials as well. Had a sausage sandwich with fries and tea. Good delivered quickly. Great taste. Choice if three types of BBQ sauce. Definitely recommend this spot.

Service was good. Environment was eclectic and interesting.Burnt ends were tough, and far down the list of excellent tasting burnt ends in the Kansas City and surrounding area - sorry, this place is cool just don't order the ends... Ribs are pork and were ok, pea salad is interesting and was good. My husband had turkey and it was very good. Sauces are flavorful.

First time ever eating here, and OMG...best BBQ ever. The burnt ends were fabulous, sausage was great as well. The ribs were tender as ever and slid right off the bone. The mild seasons used on the fries were really good. The beans were a little heavy on the molasses for my taste but still tasty. I don't normally care for mustard potato salad but this was mild enough that I still liked it. But who eats BBQ for the sides right? The meat is definitely the main attraction here.

I would rate a 3.5 but no option, but I am still impressed with the meat and the sauces. The meat was cooked pretty good and the sauce was impeccable, as far as the mac n cheese your better off buy it from walmart because I believe that's exactly what they did. I ordered 6 ribs and got back 5 ribs and on of them was the size on my pinky lol. I wont order again from them but they are not a bad place I would suggest giving a try.

Our server was outstanding! We got a variety of items. Everyone liked their meat. Fries were fantastic. Full bar. Great vibe. Went around 830 on Saturday night and no problem getting a table.

We have found the BEST BBQ in Kansas City! We stopped by here during a house hunting trip for lunch and fell in love. The fries were the best I've had. I usually won't eat them, but I cleaned my plate. We had the Tuesday lunch special, pulled pork sandwiches and walked away stuffed without spending much. The Sweet Sister sauce is a perfect compliment to the smokey flavor of the meat. Delectable all around. The atmosphere and wait staff were all big pluses. There is no better place for BBQ around, and we will be regulars.

I celebrated my birthday this evening in this delicious restaurant. Well we enjoyed a wonderful evening and the place was certainly one of the reasons for this strong event. The crew participated in a very nice manner, the food was very good and my guests were so thrilled. We shall surely return for more joyful events. Thank you very much.

Bacon chips are a must! Ribs were good, the fries are excellent, hot potato salad fantastic! The place is very cool as well great waitresses also.The people saying the food is bland or not seasoned are not people who appreciate good bbq they are used to over rubbed over seasoned food a little salt and pepper if needed and a tad bit of sauce puts it where ya want it.Again one of the better places I've been, I'm from St. Louis we have some great joints there. I just ate at 2 places (big names) this place is right there with them.

Great place! Senior pulled pork just the right size and tasty. Retro car seats very comfy. Great service. Moderate noise level for great conversion with friends, even with live blues on the patio.

Recently had them cater my wedding. Very competitive prices and excellent food. The food was delivered at exactly the time requested, and really helped things run smoothly for a big event. Really professional service and they handled it all perfectly. I can't recommend them highly enough. 5 stars all the way around!

This place is awesome. Great BBQ food. Servings are plenty. Servers are amazing. This meal is a Brisket sandwich with two sides. Several choices of sauces pending your taste. Great prices for seniors.

I just ordered from there. Very disappointing. My son's chicken was almost icebox cold as was his mac and cheese, my wings had no sauce,dry and over cooked, coleslaw was just icky, my husband ordered a pulled pork with sauce, came without sauce. 50 bucks in the trash pretty much

Juicy and tender meats with just the right amount of smoke. Delicious daily specials. Ribs are always perfect. Three sauces to choose from, so everyone is happy!This place is a gem! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and fun!

Stopped in on a trip back home to Minnesota. Had a bloody that was Ah-maxing, baby back ribs that we shared between three adults and a 3 year old toddler. More than enough food! Good selection of bbq sauces and the beans were outstanding! Tater salad was really good, had good texture, flavor and wasn’t dry. Food came out SUPER fast and service was friendly, fast and accurate. Highly recommended and will put in a note to self to stop again when in Kansas City area

Slow service, but decent food and awesome ambiance.

The atmosphere was amazing. The owner actually came and sat down with us to talk about the train above and some of the other memorabelia. The service was great and the food was delicious. Served in a very short time. I will definitely go again!

Ambiance was really fun. Good selection of food. My ribs were pretty good but not the best I had. Sauces were tasty.Bummed I was not able to get the baby back ribs as I usually like those more.

Our first time eating here and we were pleasantly surprised. You get a lot of food for the price. Burnt ends and ribs are fantastic! We took the bacon chips home and put them in the refrigerator...they were so good eating cold the next day. Fast service and a cool environment. Wish we would have found this place sooner!

This place has AWESOME BBQ food. Have eaten there several times as a online customer. ALWAYS VERY SATISFIED. Priced good and you get your money's worth. And the staff is always pleasant and nice. They treat you very well. Will continue to be a customer. Well worth 5 stars..... keep up the great food and service.
